SoCal life

A sunny afternoon in mid July, Jen and I came to Alamitos Bay, Long Beach to kayak for the first time. It was an extremely pleasant experience with nice breezy weather, friendly staffs at the rental and beautiful houses along the bay. There is this canal reminds me of Venice but in California style. At the moment, I understand why people all over the world want to come here..., this is the essence of the socal life that people are looking for.

Santa Monica Hike

I haven't been hiking FOREVER!!! Lately the weather was getting warmer so I also decided to wake up from the hibernation...
Thereof, I ended up going to the famous Santa Monica trails. After asked BB and LC to join me, we went on a Saturday morning. It was hazy... which is nice because there's no shades along the trail and we would probably get serious sun burn. The whole trail took about an hour and half. A lot of yellow wild flowers that make the paths very beautiful. We also saw the ocean from the top of the hill. Surprisingly at the end of the trail there is a ruin of a wealthy man's house, a small nice waterfall and a creek followed us back to the parking lot. I will definitely explore more of the trails around LA area.
